Avianca Vuela Visa Card Review
2022.2 Update: This card is discontinued. Current cards will be closed. This is really a bad practice because it will hurt customers’ credit history. HT: HelpMeBuildCredit.

Benefits
- 40k offer: earn 40,000 Avianca LifeMiles (AV miles) after the first purchase within the first 90 days. The recent best offer was 60k (which is expired now).
- We value AV miles at 1.5 cents/point (Airline Miles Value), so the 60k highest sign-up bonus (which is expired now) is worth about $900! See A Beginner’s Guide To Avianca (AV) Miles for more information about AV miles.
- Earn 3 AV miles per $1 spent on eligible Avianca purchases, 2 AV miles on gas and grocery, 1 AV mile per $1 on other purchases.
- No foreign transaction fee.
Disadvantages
- $149 annual fee, NOT waived for the first year.
Recommended Application Time
- You must be an Avianca LifeMiles member to apply. If you are not already a LifeMiles member, create your account here: lifemiles.com.
- If you’ve been approved for one variation of the Banco Popular Avianca card before, they won’t approve you for another Avianca card.
- We recommend you apply for this card after you have a credit history of at least two years and you are very comfortable with the credit card game.
Summary
If you know how to use Avianca (AV) LifeMiles wisely, this is a good deal. Getting 60k AV miles (which is expired now) for the price of $149, it’s not bad by all means. The issuer is Banco Popular, and we are not familiar with this bank at all. More data points about the bank are very welcomed.
