Polaris Lounge, SFO
Back in late April United opened its second Polaris Lounge in San Francisco, and it was a truly amazing lounge. At the preview event, we were told that the next Polaris Lounge to be opened will be United’s fortress hub at Newark. Indeed, a couple of days ago it was announced that EWR’s Polaris Lounge will be open to public on June 4th.
Now here is a chance to preview the Lounge on June 1st for 2,500 miles. A member could purchase up to two tickets. Do note that United says “Each attending guest must have their own ticket to be granted admission”, hinting that they will NOT issue gate pass.
On United’s Membership Exclusive website, you can now purchase a “preview pass” for this lounge if you hold a United co-branded credit card issued by Chase, or you are a MileagePlus Premier member. Slots are loaded this morning and there is some decent availability except for the evening.
If time permits, post-noon slots are better because that allows you to enjoy a-la-carte lunch rather than breakfast. But be sure to act fast since I doubt they will last.
For general members, the ticket isn’t available yet but don’t worry. For SFO Lounge last month, United offered some lounge passes to general members as well. So my guess is that some tickets will be up for grabs either later today or tomorrow.
The Polaris Lounge at SFO is an expansive, attractive lounge. I was very impressed and regard it as the “best business class lounge in North America”. I can’t wait to try out the Polaris Lounge at EWR!
